Free State Province
About The Free State PDF Print E-mail

The Free State Province of South Africa offers an abundance of opportunities for both local and international investors and traders.

Situated in the heart of South Africa, the Free State is the country’s third largest province and borders Lesotho as well as six of the eight other provinces, including the country’s economic centre, Gauteng.

With excellent infrastructure and transport links, and providing easy access to the main ports of Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth, the Free State is an ideal trading partner both within South Africa, and with Africa and other international markets.

A specialist economic development agency, the Free State Development Corporation (FDC) has been formed to offer incoming investors a comprehensive service in setting up business which include identifying, promoting and facilitating viable investment opportunities as well as promoting exports to assist local companies in identifying new markets and export opportunities for their products.

FDC in addition provides both financial and non-financial business support to SMME’s and Co-operatives and is also involved in the development and management of properties (including industrial estates)
