The Department of Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Nomalungelo Gina, Free State Premier, Me Ntombela, and the MEC Makalo Mohale of Department of DESTEA visited the Botshabelo Industrial Park on Tuesday, 1st October 2019 to assess the progress and impact of the revitalisation programme at the Botshabelo Industrial park. Companies visited included Manhood Clothing (Pty) Ltd, Transfix Transformers, Superb Home and Kitchen Manufacturers and Joy Pack.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress and impact of the Revitalization Programme.
Free State Development Corporation (FDC) joined the C entral University of Technology (CUT) in hosting the media launch of the World Intellectual Day Commemoration on 15 April 2019.
The purpose was to raise awareness of the upcoming World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2019 in Bloemfontein.
The event was held in collaboration with National Intellectual Property Management Office (NIPMO), Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Free State Development Corporation (FDC).

The Free State Development Corporation (FDC) and Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA) has lauded the plan of the Department of Trade and Industry to roll out InvestSA One stop shop in the Free State Province.
The Department of Trade and Industry will be working with the Free State Provincial Government to establish Invest South Africa One Stop Shop soon in order to attract more investors to the province.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Free State Development Corporation, Mr Ikhraam Osman will leave for China on Friday to search for investments for the Maluti-A-Phofung Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Osman will be part of a South African delegation that will be participating in a five-day Special Economic Zones Investment Roadshow that has been organised by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). The roadshow will be led by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Bulelani Magwanishe and is aimed at attracting investors to the South African SEZs which are located in various parts of the country.
